Sungho Jung, Teacher: Viola and Violin

Sungho Jung holds a D.M.A. in Violin Performance from Michigan State University and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Boston University. He also earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and a performance certificate from Prague Conservatory in the Czech Republic.

Sungho has performed with a number of symphony orchestras and chamber music groups throughout his musical education and career. In 1998 at the age of 13, he performed as a soloist with the Seoul Grand Symphony Orchestra in Korea. In 1999, he won second prize in the Namyang City String Competition in Korea, and he returned to the competition the following year when he took first prize. He also performed at the Summit Chamber Music Festival in New York in 2005, at the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival in Vermont in 2012-2014, and at the Brancaleoni International Music Festival in Italy in 2019.
Each of these experiences has shaped Sungho as a musician, preparing him to share his knowledge and skill with the next generation.
