A native of Piura, Peru, Angel began his music studies in piano and violin at the age of 8,
and entered the National Conservatory of Music in Lima where he obtained his Bachelors of
Music in Violin Performance, as well as an Artist Diploma Certificate. A violinist of profound
versatility, Angel’s performances span a wide range of musical genres from baroque to
contemporary and jazz, as well as academic Latin American music. One of his ongoing
endeavors is to document violin literature on Latin American music and further contribute to its
dissemination.
Angel has participated in various festivals in Peru as well as International festivals all over
South America. Notable performances include appearances with the Femusc Orchestra at the
Scar Theatre de Jaragua do Sul in Brazil, Teatro Independencia Mendoza in Argentina and
regional performances with Peru’s National Youth Orchestra. In the USA, Angel has participated
in many festivals such as Brevard Music Festival (NC), Bowdoin Music Festival (ME), Green
Mountain Chamber Music Festival (VT) as orchestra player as well as chamber music and solo.
In 2023, Angel participated and performed in Brancaleoni International Music Festival in
the city of Piobbico, Italy.
Currently, Angel performs with the University of South Florida’s Symphony Orchestra in
Tampa, Florida, He completed his Masters of Music in Violin Performance under the tutelage of
Dr. Carolyn Stuart.
